J   O   H   N       J.       C   A   N   T   W   E   L   L LOCAL 118, The I.B.T., & ORGANIZED LABOR HAVE LOST ONE OF AMERICA'S GREATEST TEAMSTERS”         One of my members called me on Monday and relayed to me what he had heard about John.  Up until today, Wednesday, when this tragedy was confirmed, I was hoping the news was just a  false rumor and so I did not tell anyone about it. I just didn’t want to believe that it was true.        Local 118 Teamsters have lost a super Teamster who  was very dedicated to the Teamsters Union  and was very much respected and loved by everyone.  John had the great ability of knowing how to deal with his fellow Teamsters.  John maintained an excellent record while serving as an officer of Local 118.        Personally, I will miss John very deeply. I have known John since before he became a driver at  St.Johnsbury Trucking. For as long as I have known him, John was always friendly and helpful to me as  well as to everyone else. Throughout the year, in all kinds of weather, John would show up to meet   me early each morning on the Overnite picket line where we had plenty of time to talk.   I would listen to how proud John was for being a Teamster and a part of our Local.  His experiences with strike lines made it easier for John & I to spend three years on the Overnite  line along with so many other Teamsters.  He was such a great person and a loyal Teamster.
